Home Remedies for Under-Eye Circles

Cucumber
Cucumbers are an astringent and have skin-lightening properties. For a quick treatment, place thick, cold cucumber slices onto your eyes and under-eye area for approximately 10 minutes then rinse with water. Follow this remedy for one week to begin noticing significant results.

Raw Potato
Rich in natural bleaching agents, raw potatoes are ideal for eliminating darkness and swelling around the eye area. Grate one or two chilled potatoes to extract the juice, soak a cotton ball in the liquid and place onto closed eyes. Allow the juice to sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water. For visible results, apply twice daily.

Tomato
Tomatoes contain agents that significantly brighten the skin. Mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with one teaspoon of lemon juice, gently apply the mixture onto the dark circles, leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse with clean water. Apply twice a day.

Rose Water
To take advantage of the soothing and rejuvenating effect of rose water, soak cotton pads in it then place on closed eye lids for about 15 minutes. For best results, use twice a day for a few weeks.

Almond Oil
Gently massage almond oil under your eyes before going to bed, leave overnight, then wash off with cold water in the morning. Following this remedy on a daily basis helps eliminate dark under-eye circles almost entirely. You can also use vitamin E oil for the same effect.

Lemon Juice
Lemon juice contains vitamin C which has bleaching properties. Dab fresh lemon juice around the area using a cotton ball and rinse off after 10 minutes with cold water. Apply twice a day, but be careful not to let the juice into your eyes to avoid irritation.

Cold Water
Cold water constricts blood vessels and helps reduce puffiness and dark circles. Place a washcloth soaked in cold water or cold milk directly over your eye lids for several minutes. For optimum results, repeat the process three to four times daily for a few weeks.

Turmeric
Turmeric is known for its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Mix turmeric powder with pineapple juice to make a thick paste, apply to the affected area and leave on for 10 minutes before wiping it away with a soft damp cloth. This home remedy should be followed daily until you start noticing visible results.
